This also makes Jharkhand among the few states in India to have Airtel’s integrated dual-band 4G network. The telco will extend its 4G footprint to other areas across Jharkhand in the coming months.

Commenting on the launch, Ajai Puri, Director – Operations (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel said, “We are delighted to extend our 4G services to Jharkhand. With data being consumed now more than ever before – we look forward to inviting our data savvy customers to enjoy high-speed internet on Airtel 4G network anywhere, without having to pay anything additional. We have also installed special demo zones and kiosks at all the Airtel retail stores to facilitate easy 4G SIM upgrades for customers.”

Prepaid customers can now enjoy 10 GB of 4G data for just Rs 247 with any new 4G smartphone. With this recharge, 1 GB of data will be instantly credited to the customer’s account and the additional 9 GB data can be claimed through My Airtel app. Users can avail a maximum of 3 recharges within 90 days, on the offer.

For Postpaid customers, Airtel’s Infinity plans starting from Rs.1199 will offer 4G data with unlimited voice calls for STD, local and roaming.

Recently, Airtel Payments Bank Ltd, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, rolled out a pilot of its banking services in Rajasthan. It’s aimed at testing systems and processes ahead of a full-scale pan-India launch. With this, Airtel Bank has become the first payments bank in the country to go live. Customers in towns and villages across Rajasthan will now be able to open bank accounts at Airtel retail outlets, which will also act as Airtel banking points and offer a range of basic banking services. Airtel will commence the pilot with banking points at 10,000 of its retail outlets.
