BSNL to offer unlimited free calls on Sundays starting August 15

To boost landline business and grab customers, telecom operator BSNL has announced unlimited free calling scheme from BSNL landline to any network’s mobile and landline on all Sundays on pan India basis from August 15, 2016 onwards. This facility is provided in addition to the night hour scheme wherein users can make free calls to any operator between 9pm to 7am every day.

“The competent authority on recommendation of tariff committee – CFA (Consumer Fixed Access) has approved unlimited free calling from BSNL landline to any network’s mobile and landline on all Sundays on pan India basis with effect from August 15, 2016,” read the press statement issued by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) headquarters Delhi.

The scheme has come over a year after BSNL introduced unlimited free calling (local and STD) during night hours (9pm to 7am) from its landline phones to all landline phones and mobile phones of all service provider’s network on all India basis. When we say unlimited here it means you can start your at 9pm at night and disconnect at 7am and you will not be charged even a single rupee.

“With this circular, BSNL also launched promotional offer for new landline subscribers for a period of 90 days with effect from August 15. The customers who get a new landline in the 90 day period starting from August 15 will only have to pay a fixed monthly charge of Rs 49 and the installation charges will be free. The additional facility of free night calling (local and STD) will also be available for them.
