Samsung to recall Galaxy Note 7 globally after reports of explosions

Samsung plans to recall Galaxy Note 7 smartphones globally as due to complaints that batteries are overheated, causing fire and even explode. The company is in talks with carriers for recall process.

According to the report, the problem is only with 0.1% smartphones sold and recall process is just to re-check to prevent any such incident in the future. Also, Samsung has already issued a statement on the recall process and is conducting an inspection with the help of its partners.

“In response to questions on Galaxy Note7, we are conducting a thorough inspection with our partners,” Samsung said. “We will share the findings as soon as possible. Samsung is fully committed to providing the highest quality products to our consumers.”

Shipments carrying Galaxy Note 7 has been put to a halt in some markets to prevent any such incidents. In India Galaxy Note 7 is in the pre-order state and due to the recalling of the devices, launch in India may be delayed further.

As Apple is coming out with iPhone 7 (likely) on 7th Sept. and this might affect Samsung’s earnings. Samsung will be trying to solve this issue as more quickly as possible due to Apple event on 7th Sept.
