BSNL to introduce new postpaid GSM plan Rs 1125, offers unlimited calling

BSNL introduced new postpaid GSM mobile offer for Rs. 1125, offering unlimited calling as part of the plan. The company has also revised other plans increasing their data limits, now Rs. 1500 plan will offer 5 GB of data instead of 2 GB earlier. These new tariffs will be operational from 1st Oct. 2016.

The new plan Rs. 1125 will include 1 GB data, 250 SMS and unlimited local and STD calls to any mobile or landline within the country. Apart from new postpaid plans, BSNL has revised its existing postpaid data plans Rs 666, Rs 901 and Rs 1711 to make them unlimited plans.

Rs 666 data plan now offer 7GB data and offer unlimited internet at 128kbps beyond free usage. Similarly, postpaid data plans Rs 901 and Rs 1711 offer  10GB and 20GB data respectively with unlimited internet at 128kbps beyond free usage.

We think this step cannot counter Reliance Jio, as they provide 4G data, unlimited night data, calls and SMS starting from just Rs. 149 per month. Also, Jio speeds up to 135 Mbps in some parts and what’s more no charges till the end of this year.

In the past, Airtel also launched two unlimited voice calling plans to counter Jio but with Reliance Jio commercial launch announced yesterday, more customers will opt for other service providers if they don’t come out with attracting offers for their customers.
