Vodafone announced free incoming calls for customers in national roaming. The offer starts at Diwali, customers travelling out of their telecom circle don’t need to buy special roaming packs and incoming calls will be completely free.

“At Vodafone, the customer is at the heart of all that we do and it is an ongoing endeavour to come up with unmatched value and convenience for out customers. Even though outgoing charges while roaming had become comparable to home charges, consumer research has shown that incoming charges while roaming has been a hindrance to worry-free usage,” said Sandeep Kataria, Director – Commercial, Vodafone India.

Now Vodafone users don’t need to cut short their conversations while they are travelling within the country. It looks like this move is taken in the view of Reliance Jio services as they provide unlimited voice calls and SMS without any charges.

“As part of our ongoing 200 million customer celebration, providing free incoming on national roaming will ensure that our customers do not think twice while travelling out of town,” Vodafone India, Director – Commercial, Sandeep Kataria said in a statement.

“Even though outgoing charges while roaming had become comparable to home charges, consumer research has shown that incoming charges while roaming has been a hindrance to worry-free usage,” Kataria said.

“Along with our recently launched International Roaming Daily pack which makes International Roaming worry free, we are now confident that Vodafone India customers will not be holding back conversations while travelling nationally or internationally on Vodafone SuperNet,” Kataria added.

The new entrant Jio, offers unlimited free voice calls and SMS, 4G data at low tariffs and users can travel and use their services without any problems as there is no word called roaming in Jio’s network. BSNL has also been offering free incoming call on national roaming since June 15, 2015. But now also most of the telecom operators charge for roaming services in the country.
