Airtel broadband users can now download twice as much at same price

Bharti Airtel announced new plans that offers up to 100 per cent more high-speed data benefits within the same monthly rentals, courtesy the next phase of the price war between Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, with the first phase being currently played out in the wireless space.

“Our new plans are aimed at putting India onto the digital super highway and complement our superfast broadband offerings like ‘V-Fiber’,” said Hemanth Kumar Guruswamy, CEO- Homes, Bharti Airtel (India).

The Rs 899 plan in Delhi now offers 60 GB high speed data compared to 30 GB earlier, while the Rs 1,099 plan will now offer 90 GB of high speed data compared to 50 GB earlier. The Rs 1,299 plan now offers 125 GB compared to 75 GB and the Rs 1,499 plan offers 160 GB compared to 100 GB, it added.

“We believe these new plans will also drive the adoption of high speed broadband in the country,” Hemanth Kumar Guruswamy, CEO – Homes, Bharti Airtel (India) said in a statement.

Reliance Jio is said to roll out the JioFiber broadband services in India very soon delivering speed up to 1 Gbps. The newcomer recently confirmed that the JioFiber preview is currently running in six cities of India and will soon expand to other cities as well. A few months back, Airtel rolled out the ‘V-Fiber’ broadband service based on Vectorization technology. All the revamped broadband plans of Airtel belong to V-Fiber itself.
