Huawei launched three new smartphones under Honor brand- Honor 8, Honor 8 Smart and Honor Holly 3. The Honor Holly 3 is the first made in India smartphone by the company and is manufactured at Chennai Plant. Honor 8 smartphone is priced at Rs 29,999 while Honor 8 Smart will retail for Rs 19,999. Huawei has priced Holly 3 at Rs 9,999.

“We have a long-term view and a long-term strategy in this country”, said George Zhou, president of Honor, Huawei’s smartphone brand, speaking at the launch event. “With this launch, we continue our India journey and promise to introduce even more high-quality, disruptive products in the market.”

For Honor brand, the new Honor 8 smartphone will serve as the flagship smartphone. Honor 8 features same dual rear camera setup like Huawei P9, minus the Leica branding. It has an all-glass design. The 3000 mAh battery, 4GB RAM and a 32GB memory with extendable support and the Kirin 950 chip run Android 6.0 smoothly. Added features included secure fingerprint scanning and the 2.5D dual glass coating for increased protection and style.

The dual SIM phone will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow running Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top. Honor 8 features a dual 12MP rear camera setup (f/2.2 aperture) that comes with laser autofocus and dual-LED flash and also has features like geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR and panorama. The selfie shooter on the phone is an 8MP with a f/2.4 aperture.

Honor Smart will be the budget friendly variant of Honor 8 with a metal unibody design and single rear camera. The smartphone has tweaked Antenna design like latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with a screen to body ratio of 76.4 per cent. Honor 8 Smart has same 5.2-inch Full HD display like Honor 8 but gets 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. It has a slower Kirin 650 processor under the hood. Honor 8 Smart sports a 13MP backside illuminated rear camera and an 8MP primary camera. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery uses microUSB port for charging.

Honor Holly 3 is a 4G device running on a Kirin 620 CPU and is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow running the EMUI 4. 1 skin on top. The phone has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable to 128GB). The primary camera on the phone is 13MP, while the front camera is 8MP – both with f/2.0 aperture. It backed by a 3100 mAh battery.
