Reliance Jio which recently launched 4G services is now migrating its existing subscribers to Jio welcome offer putting a cap of 4 GB data for a day.

What was Preview Offer?

Before commercial launch, Jio was giving Jio SIM cards only to people with smartphones of specific brands. Jio provided them with three months of unlimited  4G data from the date of activation with no caps on data and with high speed as promised. This also includes unlimited voice calls and SMS.

What is Welcome Offer?

This changes few things on Sept. 5 after the commercial launch of services. SIM cards issued on or after Sept. 5 is running with Welcome Offer. So, it’s not just old users migrated but also new subscribers also. Under this offer, unlimited data comes with terms and conditions as after 4 GB per day speed goes down to 128 kbps. Unlimited Voice calls and SMS are the same with no terms and conditions.

The welcome offer is only valid till 31st Dec. 16 even when you get your SIM card in Dec., so no three months offer. The offer ends on 31st Dec. for all subscribers and from 1st Jan. 17 all users have to pay for services.
