There were reports that OnePlus is working on a new variant- as per a recent post made by a OnePlus designer on Weibo suggests that the phone might be called the OnePlus 3T. There is no official confirmation till now but OnePlus has said in the past that they will be launching just one flagship device in a year, but according to a GizmoChina report, the company is facing a huge backlog of OnePlus 3 orders that they have been unable to fulfill because of a shortage in supply of AMOLED displays.

However, OnePlus CEO, Carl Pei recently tweeted out saying that “OnePlus will be staying with Optic AMOLED displays for the foreseeable future.” The new variant of the OnePlus 3 is rumoured to be launched within the coming weeks.

As per rumours, the smartphone will have 2.4GHz Snapdragon 821 chipset, instead of the 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 seen on the OnePlus 3. Claims are that the new smartphone OnePlus 3T will also sport the same design and metal unibody as the OnePlus 3, and will also come with the Dash Charge technology embedded.

Other specifications, including 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB (UFS 2.0) storage, 16MP rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, 8MP front-facing camera, Fingerprint sensor, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C, 3000mAh battery with Dash Charge, and the design are expected to remain the same as the original OnePlus 3, but it could run Android 7.0 (Nougat) out of the box.
